The is a very fine antique Barbour Silver Co repousse silver plate trinket box with a wood lining. The intricately designed pattern shows scenes of Dutch country life. It was hand hammered in the USA during the early 20th Century. It was originally designed as a cigarette box, but can now be used as trinket box or table accessory. The Barbour Silver Co. became a division of International Silver in 1898.
The box measures 5" x 3.25" and is 2.25" in height.
The box is in very good condition. The design is vibrant, the hinges are in good working order, and the top closes and fits well. There is a crack in the top of the wood lining which is shown in the last photo. The wood lining does not support the metal exterior of the box or the hinges.
