I'll never forget 1985. The first time I heard "This Is For You"...
This rhythm, this sound, this groove, all of it was fresh and shocking. It was a new encounter with soul music, mellow yet making my body tingle. And that innovative musicality would be inherited by "Don't Disturb This Groove" and their masterpiece, "Have Mercy."
They're not often re-evaluated, but I wish someone with influence would do something about it soon. Yes, just my usual rambling.
